Meet the Founder - Daniella “Thee New Nigerian” Crafter

Daniella is a native of Youngstown, OH. She attended and graduated from Youngstown Ursuline High School. Then she attended and graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. Post Undergrad Daniella moved to Washington, DC for work which eventually led her to attend Howard University School of Law. After law school Daniella got her LLM in Health Law from Georgia State University.

With all of that schooling Daniella is intimately familiar with Student Loan Debt. This is a cause that is very near and dear to her heart so when she speaks it with a host of knowledge and experience and the desire to help.

The inspiration behind “My Ancestor’s Dream” was when our founder was having multiple conversations with people from her hometown, listening to how their specific journeys towards higher education and oftentimes unsuccessful completions of their education landed them into more debt than if they’d just not gone to college in the first place. Listening to how they could have benefited from experience and even just solid information would have made drastic improvements on their lives.

After determining what system will work, we decided to open a nonprofit website to bring people of different races together under one roof. We invited some friends to join this journey. Their numbers went from 2 to about 6. They began to assist the growth of the community.

The concept “My Ancestor’s Dream”, which began as an idea for a very long time, became reality in April 2021. And has become a one-stop shop for individuals to share their plights and see the world in different angles, and greatly increasing their chances for prosperity and breaking generational curses, opening future paths to becoming successful adults and members of society.

The needs in our community are pressing and we need to move with the urgency of now to address those needs. My Ancestor’s Dream is looking to serve minority communities both in the US and Africa. We aim to help minorities receive information and guidance to make the most informed decisions possible in order to be able to navigate post-secondary school education, college, adulthood, and even entrepreneurship.

My Ancestor’s dream was founded in 2021. Founded to improve the lives of people in minority communities. “To whom much is given much is required”, whenDaniella was afforded opportunities and even had to learn some lessons the hard way. She had decided to want to pass it on so that the generations to come don’t have to learn the hard way and can even create a path for themselves to success (however that looks for them).
